DUE DILIGENCE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Wolfpack Intelligence produces full spectrum diligence reports on individuals and companies in any market. Our researchers gather all information from open sources and confidential databases and begin a process of analysis and cross-checking in order to identify and address warning signs and produce the most comprehensive and accurate reports possible for our clients thus providing an important defense from the reputational and financial impact of non-compliance.
Research begins with obtaining the company's registration documents, often by a Wolfpack partner's personal visit to the registrar's office in the relevant country. In tax havens, the process is more complicated and expensive. We check the ownership of the company including whether the ownership includes state-owned companies or politically exposed (PEPs) shareholders and senior executives. We conduct background checks on owners and senior executives, scan comprehensive public records, legal databases, global sanctions databases and watchlists that cover government-prohibited and barred persons and entities (blacklists). We analyze the company’s business practices, history and operations - including all identified corporate affiliations to gain knowledge of their business practices and any issues or concerns that might raise a red flag.
When we check individuals - we review and verify the details of their curriculum vitae. We examine employment history, identify and verify any undisclosed past corporate affiliations, and review and verify the individual’s academic history. We scan media, internet, and legal databases for warning signs. We check the subject's name in global sanctions databases and watchlists, and check whether the individual is politically exposed. We analyze the subject’s source of wealth, social media presence, and reputation.
We have built a methodology for conducting research in countries where information gathering is scarce due to language barriers or limited access to public records.
When dealing with companies and individuals in Israel, we often use human intelligence (HUMINT), which gives us an edge in gathering information on the Israeli market and international markets in which Israelis operate. Israel is comprised of immigrants from a variety of countries enabling research in many languages including: Spanish, French and Russian. We also employ researchers who served in the Israeli Intelligence Corps elite SIGINT unit and are proficient in the Arabic language, enabling us to conduct research in Arabic-speaking countries.
